The Wildcats'  doubles team of seniors Hadley Hackmann and Edde Sue Doehring represented Westminster at the Class 2 Individual State Tournament last weekend, capping off their senior seasons with a strong showing against some of Missouri's best competition.

In the opening round, the duo faced a talented MICDS team and played tough, ultimately falling 2-0. Despite the loss, Hackmann and Doehring displayed poise and precision throughout the match. Their opponents went on to finish second in the state, underscoring the high level of play in the first-round matchup.

In the consolation bracket, the Wildcats bounced back with energy and focus, defeating a team from St. Michael in straight sets. Their chemistry and communication shined as they advanced to the next round.

The pair's final match came against a strong Pembroke Hill team. Hackmann and Doehring split the first two sets before entering a 10-point tiebreaker. After falling behind 3-5, the Wildcats rallied to tie it at 7-7, showcasing their fight and composure. In the end, they narrowly dropped the tiebreak 12-10, closing their state run in a thrilling, hard-fought contest.
