The Wildcat Girls Tennis Team competed in the Class 2 District 2 Individual Tournament on October 9–10, featuring players from eight area schools. Each program entered two singles players and two doubles teams, with the top two finishers in each bracket earning spots in the Individual State Tournament on October 24–25.
Westminster's #1 doubles team of seniors Hadley Hackmann and Edde Sue Doehring delivered an outstanding performance, winning the district title and advancing to state. After receiving a first-round bye, the duo defeated Webster Groves' second team (6-1, 6-0), Parkway West's top team (6-1, 6-2), and clinched the championship with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Webster Groves' first team.
In singles play, sophomore Ava Walker battled through the bracket to earn a third-place finish, narrowly missing a state berth.
Next up, the Wildcats begin team postseason play with a District Quarterfinal matchup against Mehlville on Monday, October 13 at Westminster.
