This past week, the girls tennis team showcased their skills at the Parkway West Double Tournament, a two-day event featuring four flights of doubles teams from various schools.
Day one involved pool competitions at four different sites, with Westminster hosting teams from Lutheran South and Clayton. All four of Westminster's doubles teams excelled, advancing to the next round of the tournament.
The semifinals and placement matches were held at Westminster on the second day. The Flight One team, composed of junior Hadley Hackmann and senior Edde Sue Doehring, fought hard in their semifinal match but were edged out. However, they rallied back to secure a third-place finish in their final match. Similarly, the Flight Two duo of senior Keeley O'Meara and junior Aunika Groat claimed third place after a narrow loss in the semifinal and a victory in their final match.
The tournament concluded with outstanding victories from two Wildcat pairs. The Flight Three team, senior Lauren Pollack and sophomore Morgan Bernhardt, and the Flight Four team, senior Lacey Brown and junior Blair Liggett, dominated their matches to clinch first place in their respective flights.
Congratulations to all members of the Wildcat tennis team for their exceptional performance and teamwork at the tournament!
