Calvin Van Heest
Calvin Van Heest
Senior Ten Pillars

Calvin participated in soccer and tennis during his time at Westminster. When asked about how Calvin embodied the 10 Pillars, Soccer Coach Dan Legters had high praise saying "Calvin is the epitome of the 10 Pillar athlete. His faith is important to him, he loves to support other teams, and as a soccer captain he always found ways to encourage his teammates and pick them up. He played with passion and had a smile on his face because he enjoyed the process. He is humble enough to put others--his teammates, his team--first. He reminded them that it's not about ourselves, it's not about our honor and glory, it's about the way we work, it's about the way we practice, it's about the way we think of others, it's about the way we live our faith for God's glory and the good of others."

I have read that 'it takes seven miles to turn a ship around'. There are two things that I know. First, you definitely want Margaret on board your ship. Second, she would only need six miles! Margaret is no longer an acorn but a beautiful 'Mighty Oak' as she Honors Jesus Christ in the world!" Coach Barbee's words are well deserved praise for Margaret.
