For two decades Nic Zenker has devoted his life to high school basketball. This coming season he will bring his talents and knowledge to Westminster.

Coach Zenker started his coaching career at Bowman High School in North Dakota in 2002. In 2008 his family moved south to Shelbyville, Missouri, and he has been impacting the lives of Missouri student-athletes ever since. Most recently, Coach Zenker had a successful 5 year tenure as the Head Coach at Northeast (Cairo), before moving to St. Louis as the Assistant Coach at Webster Groves last season.

During his time as a head coach, Nic has accumulated 320 career wins, brought home 6 district championships, was named District Coach of the Year 9 times, and was the 2019 KRES Coach of the Year.

Off the court, Coach Zenker will be joining Westminster as a full-time faculty member in the special services department. 

Nic has been married to his wife Laura for almost 23 years. They have two children; their oldest Izzy will be a sophomore at Mizzou in the fall while his youngest Logan is a rising freshman. 

When asked what he's most excited for in the new position, Coach Zenker said "I am excited to join Westminster and teach and coach in a Christian environment with so many like minded individuals. We have already met so many great people here on staff, and everyone has been so welcoming. I cannot wait to get started!"

The athletic department would be remiss if we did not thank Coach Shawn Briner for stepping in this year as our Interim Head Coach. He gave his time to help out our program in a pinch and we will always be appreciative of that sacrifice. Not many high school coaches can say that they coached in a district playoff game and argued a case before the Missouri Supreme Court in the same day!

Westminster Athletics is elated to have Coach Zenker aboard and excited to see the team thrive under his direction.
