Coach Spotlight: Jamie Kuhn

Eight years ago, Jamie Kuhn joined the Westminster family as the newest member of the Physical Education department. Now being the P.E. Department Chair,  Jamie has become an integral part of daily life for students at Westminster.

Jamie began her teaching career at Westminster immediately after earning her degree from Lindenwood University. Her coaching career had started a year earlier, while still in college, when she coached upper school field hockey at Eureka. The following year marked the start of her coaching journey with the Westminster Wildcats, initially in upper school basketball and lacrosse. Over the years, Coach Kuhn has donned various coaching hats, extending her expertise to middle school sports, including field hockey, basketball, swimming, and lacrosse.

When asked about her motivation for coaching, Coach Kuhn expressed that her favorite aspect is "watching athletes grow and succeed in what they're doing." She emphasized that while winning is important, witnessing the personal and team growth of the students is more rewarding. An added joy for her is the opportunity to get to know the students more deeply, building relationships over her nine-year coaching tenure.

In her personal time, Jamie enjoys gardening and tending to her chickens, embracing her inner "wannabe homesteader" as she would say. Summers are a special time for her, spent at her parents' lake house creating memories with her family and three children, enjoying activities like boating and skiing.

Westminster is truly fortunate to have Coach Kuhn as part of our community, and we eagerly anticipate continuing to grow together in the years ahead.
