Westminster tennis made school history at the Class 2 State Individual Tournament on May 15–16, as senior Noah Suthar captured the program's first-ever singles state championship while the doubles team of Owen Legters and Henry Schloss also brought home a state title.

The two-day tournament featured a 16-player bracket in both singles and doubles competition, showcasing the top players from across Missouri.

Suthar entered the singles bracket after an outstanding season and received a first-round bye when his opening opponent withdrew due to illness. In the quarterfinals, the senior rolled to a 6-3, 6-3 victory over the St. Pius X (Kansas City) singles player before dominating his semifinal matchup against Willard, surrendering just one game in a straight-set victory.

The championship match featured a rematch of Suthar's district championship showdown with Parkway Central's Arhan Meka. Meka won that matchup 6-2, 6-0. After falling 1-6 in the opening set, it looked like it might be a similar result. Suthar then responded under pressure with a gritty 6-3 second-set victory to force a 10-point tiebreaker. The Wildcat senior then took control, winning the breaker 10-5 to become the first singles state champion in Westminster tennis history.

The doubles bracket provided even more drama as senior Owen Legters and junior Henry Schloss put together an unforgettable postseason run. The pair opened with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Poplar Bluff before defeating Missouri Military Academy in the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, Legters and Schloss dropped a tightly contested first set 5-7 before battling back with a 6-2 second-set win to force a 10-point tiebreaker. The Wildcats prevailed to earn a spot in the championship match against Parkway West.

The title match proved to be another thriller and another rematch. The Parkway West doubles team defeated Legters and Schloss in a tightly contested district championship match  that went to a tiebreaker. Westminster captured the opening set 7-6 before the Longhorns answered in set two, sending the match to yet another 10-point tiebreaker. After Parkway West erased an early 4-1 Wildcat lead to tie the breaker 7-7, Legters and Schloss responded with three consecutive points to secure the state championship.

The historic weekend capped an incredible season for Westminster tennis and Coaches Bishop and Reilly, with the Wildcats bringing home both the singles and doubles Class 2 state titles.
