Suthar and Walker Medal at State Doubles Tournament

Westminster's doubles team of junior Noah Suthar and senior Alan Walker earned state medalist honors with an impressive 5th place finish at the Class 2 State Doubles Tournament, held May 15–16 at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Missouri.

The pair advanced to the quarterfinal after a commanding 6-3, 6-1 sectional victory over Warrensburg, securing their place among Missouri's top 8 doubles teams.

In the state quarterfinals, Suthar and Walker faced the tournament's top-seeded team from Ladue. After dropping a tight first set, the Wildcats stormed back to win the second set 6-1, forcing a third-set tiebreak. In one of the tournament's most competitive matches, they narrowly fell 4-6, 6-1, 9-11, sending them to the consolation bracket. In the consolation bracket, the best finish possible would be fifth place due to the design of the tournament.

Refusing to be rattled, the duo rebounded with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 win in their first consolation match. They carried that momentum into the following rounds, ultimately securing a 5th place finish and state medals, a well-earned reward for their resilience and outstanding play.

Walker concludes his Westminster tennis career with a his second individual state medal, while Suthar returns next season with valuable experience on the state stage.

Congratulations to the boys and Coaches Bishop and Reilly on a great season!
