The Westminster baseball team continued a dominant run through the Metro League, extending their record to 10-0 in conference play to capture the Metro League Championship outright. After Friday's win over MICDS, the Wildcats remain the only undefeated team in conference with only one game remaining and every other school suffering at least two league losses.
Westminster's title run was defined by consistency, depth, and resilience. The team opened league play with a convincing 10-0 win over MICDS on April 1 and never looked back. They picked up back-to-back wins against Lutheran South (8-6, 12-1), swept Lutheran North in dominant fashion (13-3, 15-0), and handled Priory in consecutive matchups (7-2, 8-3).
They continued their strong play into May, defeating John Burroughs twice (10-0, 5-2) before clinching the title with a 3-1 win at MICDS on May 9.
The Wildcats will wrap up their conference schedule with a game against Whitfield on May 13, then turn their attention to the Class 5 District 2 Tournament. Westminster earned the #2 seed and will face Chaminade in the quarterfinal round on May 21.
