The district #1-seeded Westminster Wildcats volleyball team took the court Tuesday night for the Class 5 District 3 Championship against the #2-seeded Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights at Hazelwood Central High School. In a highly competitive matchup between two of the area's top programs, the Wildcats came up just short, falling 1–3 by set scores of 22–25, 23–25, 25–20, and 17–25.
After narrowly dropping the first two sets, Westminster showed its resilience in the third, battling back to win 25–20 behind strong serving and disciplined defense. The momentum carried into the fourth set, but Incarnate Word's attack proved too steady down the stretch, sealing the match and the district title.
The team finished the year with a 26-8-1 record, good for the program's fifth year in a row with 20+ wins.
Congratulations to the girls and coaches on a great season!
