300 Wins and Counting

A single win is hard to come by; adding another 299 is almost unimaginable.

The past two decades have been a whirlwind of change for Wildcat athletics. Amidst this, one constant has been Coach Dan Legters, a familiar figure on the sideline in the fall. Since his debut in 2001, Señor—as his players and students affectionately call him—has led the Wildcats to 17 winning seasons. He has proudly hoisted a district championship plaque in three of those seasons (10', 15', 24'), and in the fall of 2024, he reached the pinnacle, bringing home the state championship after the team's 1-0 win over Logan-Rogersville. Now, this season, he has achieved another significant milestone, 300 wins. These historical achievements are a source of pride and inspiration for the entire Wildcat community.

Pictured above is a photo with Coach Legters, junior Charlie Kruse, and his father Deek Kruse 02'. Deek was a senior on Dan's 2001 squad that notched the first win of his coaching career. Now, 24 years later, his son Charlie was on the pitch for Coach's 300th.

Congratulations, Dan, on your continued success on the pitch; we look forward to the remainder of the season, where you continue the pursuit of another achievement: back-to-back championships.
