Last month, Emily Griege '23 set a remarkable record in her first year of collegiate hockey. In a game on January 13 that saw Griege's UW-Stevens Point team face off against UW-River Falls, the freshman goalie set a program record with 59 saves, surpassing the previous record held by Pointer career saves leader Olivia Schultz.
Emily has taken the majority of starts in goal this year for the Pointers, protecting the net in 16 of the team's 23 games. This spring, she will continue her role in goal, this time for UW-Stevens Point's inaugural women's lacrosse team.
Congratulations, Emily, on a fantastic start to your collegiate hockey career. We look forward to seeing your accomplishments in goal for years to come.
