The Westminster Christian Academy girls soccer team saw its successful season come to an end in the Class 2 State Quarterfinals on Saturday, May 30, falling to St. Vincent at home.
Fresh off a District 2 championship, the Wildcats entered the quarterfinal matchup looking to continue their postseason run. The game proved to be a defensive battle throughout, with both teams limiting scoring opportunities and competing with great intensity.
In the end, St. Vincent scored the lone goal of the match, edging Westminster 1-0 and bringing the Wildcats' playoff journey to a close.
While the loss was a difficult ending, it does not diminish what was an outstanding season for Westminster. The Wildcats finished with a 12-7 record and captured a district championship while demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and growth throughout the year.
Perhaps most encouraging is the future ahead. With much of the roster expected to return next season, the Wildcats have a strong foundation to build upon as they look to take the next step in 2026.
Congratulations to the team and Coaches Lawrence, Pritchett, and Legters on a memorable season and an impressive run to the state quarterfinals.
