On Tuesday, February 10, Westminster Christian Academy celebrated Senior Night with a special ceremony recognizing 15 senior student-athletes from Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Cheer, and Dance. Each senior was honored alongside their families and recognized for their years of dedication to their programs and their plans for the future.
Boys Basketball
Tobi Akinyede was accompanied by his parents, Roland and Dupe Akinyede. Tobi has been part of the Westminster basketball program since seventh grade. This fall, he plans to major in pre-med with the goal of becoming a sports physician.
Savon Buford, joined by his parents LeRon and Deanna Buford, has been a four-year member of the basketball program. After graduation, he plans to study Engineering.
Gage Grewe was accompanied by his parents, Matthew and Heather Grewe, and his brothers Joey and Wyatt. A four-year member of Wildcat basketball, Gage will attend the University of Missouri in the fall.
Girls Basketball
Meredith De Groot, accompanied by her parents Darren and Rachel De Groot, has been a four-year member of the girls basketball program. She will attend Samford University this fall.
Addi Drumm was joined by her parents Bill and Angie Drumm and Casey and Leo Stoff. A four-year player for the Wildcats, Addi plans to attend Missouri State University to study finance and accounting.
Essence Robertson, accompanied by her parents Lionell and Tiffany Robertson and siblings Alonna and Derien, has been a four-year member of the program. She will attend Saint Louis University to study Sports Management.
Reese Ricci, escorted by her father Steve Ricci and mother Katrina Hennies, has served as the girls basketball manager for two years. She plans to attend Liberty University.
Cheer
Isabelle Clawson was accompanied by her parents Brian and Darcy Clawson and her sister Kate. Isabelle has cheered for Westminster since seventh grade. She will attend Samford University in the fall.
Bella Hugo, joined by her parents Kyle and Laura Hugo, has been a four-year member of the cheer team. She is currently undecided on her college plans.
Dance
Tori Brand was accompanied by her parents Todd and Holly Brand. This was her first year in the dance program. She plans to attend Samford University to study Elementary Education.
Maddie Butler, joined by her parents Jim and Dani Butler, has been in the dance program for two years. She will attend Taylor University to study law.
Addy Ingram was unable to attend. It is her first year of dance. She plans to attend Grand Canyon University to major in nursing.
Bri Joseph was joined by her parents Ben and Tiffany Joseph. A three-year member of the dance program, she will attend Oral Roberts University to study cinema arts and digital marketing.
Ali Renfert, accompanied by her parents Thomas and Julie Renfert, has been a four-year member of Wildcat dance. She plans to attend Kansas State University to study architecture and design.
Azaria Spearman was joined by her mother Tyanna Blackmun. A five-year member of the Westminster dance program, Azaria plans to study forensic science after graduation.
The evening concluded with a final round of applause for a senior class that has poured years of commitment, leadership, and school spirit into Westminster athletics. Their impact on their teams and the Wildcat community will be felt long after the final buzzer and final routine.
