Volleyball at the Lutheran St. Charles Invitational

A busy week with seven total matches for Wildcat boys volleyball was capped off by a successful run at the Lutheran St. Charles Invitational.

The Cats came into the weekend after a stretch of tough match-ups on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. For the invitational, the boys competed against three teams in round robin pool play which was followed by a placement match based on the results of pool play. The Cats started off hot, picking up a victory against Hazelwood West in their first match of the day with set scores of 25-15, 25-16. The second match of the event pegged the Wildcats against the Broncos of Bayless. They again would find themselves winning the race to 25 in two straights sets taking their second victory of the event.

In their third and final pool play match, they took on the host of the tournament, the Lutheran St. Charles Cougars. Two well fought sets against a team that defeated them 3-0 earlier in the season resulted in a split giving the Cats and Cougars identical 2-0-1 records in pool play. The finish earned the team a spot in the 3rd place match against Pattonville after applying the tie-breaking criteria. In the match against the Pirates, the Wildcats would ultimately come just short of victory, claiming 4th place in the invitational.

The Wildcats next match will be with a familiar opponent, Hazelwood West, on Monday April 22
