Seeing wins, not just on the court or the field but in life, is a driving force behind the coaching and teaching career of Jeff Eastham. Jeff has been a part of Westminster since 2019. Initially, he began as an 8th-grade girls' basketball coach, but his involvement has since expanded to lacrosse and football. This year, Jeff has a full plate, serving as an assistant coach for the football team specializing in linebackers, an assistant coach for the boys' varsity basketball team, and the head coach for the boys' freshman basketball team. When Jeff isn't coaching a sport at WCA, he's still guiding students as a PE coach—a full-time position he began two years ago.
Jeff's coaching journey commenced 12 years ago when he began coaching various club teams throughout the St. Louis area. He attributes his entry into coaching to his love of sports and a passion for mentoring students. For Jeff, it's not just about teaching competitiveness and sportsmanship; it's about imparting life lessons and encouraging students to be the best versions of themselves. Reflecting on his coaching experience, Jeff shared, "It's amazing to see all that God is doing in these kids who possess so much talent. To play even a small part in their lives is a privilege I never take for granted."
Growing up, Coach Eastham often witnessed examples of what not to do. However, when it comes to coaching, he considers Varsity Head Coach Dale Ribble as his most influential mentor. Jeff believes that working under Dale has not only honed his basketball and coaching skills but has also made him a better individual.
Away from Westminster, Jeff cherishes time spent traveling with his wife and three children. Their favorite destinations include the beach during summer and New York City at Christmastime. When he's not on the move, he enjoys watching ESPN, live sports, and cheering for his favorite teams: the Ohio State Buckeyes football and Duke Basketball.
Jeff has proven to be a wonderful addition to the Westminster family. We're grateful to have him as an exemplary mentor and role model for the students and athletes at WCA.
