Senior Golfer Juliya Tabaka Earns Prestigious Evans Scholarship

Westminster senior golfer Juliya Tabaka has been awarded the highly competitive Evans Scholarship by the Western Golf Association (WGA), one of the nation's most respected scholarship programs for student caddies.

The Evans Scholarship provides full tuition and housing for four years, offering recipients the opportunity to earn a college degree with significant financial support. Selection is based on four key criteria: a strong caddie record, excellent academic performance, outstanding character, and demonstrated financial need.

First awarded in 1930, the Evans Scholarship has impacted generations of students. Since its inception, 12,575 scholarships have been awarded to deserving young men and women across the country through the Evans Scholars Foundation.

Juliya's recognition reflects years of dedication both on and off the golf course. As a member of the Westminster golf program, she has demonstrated discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Her work as a caddie, combined with her academic success and character, exemplifies the values the Evans Scholarship was created to honor.

In recognition of this achievement, Juliya was invited to appear on FOX 2 alongside WGA Director Steve Wendling to discuss the scholarship and what it means to be named an Evans Scholar. The appearance highlighted not only Juliya's accomplishment, but also the life-changing impact of the scholarship program.

Westminster celebrates Juliya Tabaka on this extraordinary honor. Her achievement places her among an elite group of scholars nationwide and reflects the excellence and integrity she has consistently displayed throughout her high school career.
