Class of 2019 alumnus Luke Fiala is back and continuing to make his mark on the Wildcat boys lacrosse program.
Luke joined the Westminster community in his seventh-grade year and was quickly introduced to lacrosse by a friend. He became one of the first members of the club lacrosse team at Westminster. Throughout his time as a player, Luke experienced the challenges and triumphs of a new program, culminating in a significant role on the 2019 Show Me Cup runner-up team. His exceptional play earned him First-Team All-Metro League honors twice as a Wildcat.
Beyond Westminster, Luke played for local club teams, including the Samurai, Shoguns, and MO-22, and continued playing club lacrosse at Mizzou for three of his four years, the exception being the COVID-canceled 2020 season. He also worked as a lacrosse referee and a camp coach.
A decade after starting his lacrosse journey, Luke has returned to Westminster as an assistant coach, coinciding with the program's resurgence after a year's hiatus. Reflecting on his return, Luke shared, "I cherished my time at Westminster, and lacrosse was a significant part of that experience. I was here at the inception of the team in spring 2014, and it's incredibly fulfilling to be part of its renewal ten years later."
Outside of lacrosse, Luke is completing his Masters of Accountancy at the University of Missouri and preparing for his CPA exams. He will join KPMG's tax department in the fall.
When not coaching or studying, Luke enjoys fishing, golfing, and quality time with family and his fiancée, Neeve McMillin, also a Westminster alumna.
We're thrilled to welcome back Luke to mentor our student-athletes. His return to Westminster marks an exciting chapter for him and Wildcat lacrosse.
